Boeing Employees Amateur Radio Operators North Society (BEARONS)

Purpose
To promote interest in amateur radio.
BEARONS is one of 9 amateur radio clubs within the Boeing Company. Each club is independently organized and run.
BEARONS club callsign is W7FLY. BEARONS is based out of Boeing’s Everett facility, which is where model 747, 767, and 777 airplanes are assembled, painted, and delivered to our airline customers.
The club operates and maintains a 440 MHz repeater. The repeater is located on the property of the Alderwood Water and Waste District main offices in Lynnwood, WA. The repeater is Yaesu System Fusion (DR-2X) set to auto-auto mode, using an input frequency of 448.925 MHz and an output frequency of 443.925 MHz, utilizing a 100 Hz PL tone for access. It also has an active WIRES-X node. The repeater callsign is W7FLY.
As a club we participate in the ARRL’s annual Field Day contest in June as well as the Washington State QSO Party (a.k.a “The Salmon Run”) in September. We also provide communications support for various Boeing company functions and activities at the company’s request.
